International Shotokan Karate
School in Etobicoke

ISK was founded April 01, 1994 by the late Sensei's Ron Tkacz and Carmen Forgione and has become a dojo for developing the highest standards of karate-ka and elite level sport karate athletes. The Team ISK Senior members have competed at a variety of levels, National, and we are the proud home to many Provincial, and International Champions. Many of our students have been chosen to participate in the sport karate program (Team ISK), which has active competitors across all ages and skill levels. Through the progressive mastery of these skills, they attain new belt levels. Through the study of these disciplines, our students develop new skills and abilities. Our students practice the 3 main components of all traditional karate styles: Kata (forms), Kihon (basics), and Kumite (sparring). Today, classes are run by Head Instructor Karl Sutton, and the dojo is managed by Dana and Susan Tkacz. Our main goal at ISK is for our students to learn self-discipline, respect, determination and confidence through the study of shotokan karate and their learning experiences at the dojo.
